The Patriots came out the gates shooting as they were up 16-0 on the Cougars in a hurry, thanks to overpowering play in the lane. Mike Sorcia was dominant in the paint all night as he scored eight of the Pats' first 16 points. After one quarter the Pats led 16-6 and looked to extend their lead before the half.
Sorcia remained hot as he scored five of the Pats' 10 second-quarter points. The Cougars kept within reaching distance as they tacked on eight more points before the half, going into the locker room down 26-14.
After being down as much as 16 points, the Cougars cut the Pats lead to seven late in the third quarter after a trifecta by Kavon Hill. Seven was as close as the Cougars would come as Chris Houston closed out the game for the Pats scoring 13 of his 17 points in the second half.
Sorcia led all scorers with 21 points and Houston tacked on another 17 for the Patriots. Hill led the Cougars with 13 points.
The Patriots will try and remain hot as they play Westwood at home on Thursday night after the girls' 6 p.m. tipoff.
