Lady Champs rally with Heath, Sudduth for win

Friday, November 16, 2012

EAGLEVILLE -- After falling behind in the first half, the Cascade Lady Champions took advantage of an Eagleville Lady Eagle offense that struggled mightily in the second half and only accounted for four combined points.

But with the Lady Eagles' offense struggling, Cascade seized the opportunity and pulled ahead for good for the 32-24 win.

The Kristen Heath and Bailey Sudduth again led the Lady Champs with 16 and 13 points, respectively.

Abi Jones also added three more points for the winners.

Back and forth

Early on, it was a see-saw affair between the squads.

Cascade took an 11-5 lead after the first quarter, but only managed a pair of points in the second frame. That sluggish offensive effort allowed the Lady Eagles to orchestrate a 15-point rally to recapture the lead before halftime.

Despite the Lady Eagle surge, Cascade had no problem posting 19 more in the second half to cruise to the win.

Cascade will take next week off, but return home on Nov. 26 when the Lady Champs welcome Westwood for the final game of the regular season.
