EAGLEVILLE -- So far this season, the Cascade Middle Champions have been able to steamroll their competition, often scoring into the 60s and 70s.
But on Thursday night, the Champs ran into a buzzsaw against Eagleville and was limited to just 43 points.
Despite the "low score," a strong push in the fourth quarter was enough to lift the Champs to the 43-39 road victory to remain unbeaten.
Eagleville didn't give up easily.
Cascade had to work down to the wire to secure Thursday's win.
The Champs trailed the Eagles for the first three quarters of play, but gained control with a 10-point fourth quarter to pull ahead for good.
Hayden Edmondson's 13 points spurred the winners to victory, but got some help from teammates Nick Adcock, Seth Gardner, and Hunter Calvert. Adcock also hit double digits with 10 points while Gardner and Calvert added seven apiece.
Eagleville held a 13-11 advantage after the first quarter, and a 21-20 lead after the first half.
Cascade kept it close by adding 12 more in the third .Lane Stacy and Terrance Swan both added valuable points to help put the game away.
The Champs get a break until their final two games of the regular season. Cascade will take Thanksgiving week off and then host Westwood in the final home game of the season on Nov. 26.
