Bedford County's grand jury indicted a man accused of a brutal case of domestic violence this past summer.
David Wayne Johnson, 28, was indicted Monday for the crime of especially aggravated kidnapping (two counts) aggravated rape (two counts). Circuit Court Judge Robert Crigler set his next court date for Dec. 17.
Johnson's wife told police she escaped the couple's Pickle Street home on July 4 after being held captive and abused for several days.
She ran to a South Cannon Boulevard convenience store, police said, where the manager locked her inside as Johnson allegedly circled the parking lot in his car before leaving as officers approached. Johnson is represented by attorney John Norton.
Andrew Phillip Marshall, 19, was indicted on a charge of felony jail escape.
Marshall allegedly escaped through the roof of Bedford County Jail overnight Aug. 11-12 and was captured on the night of Aug. 12 at a Shelbyville trailer park.
It was the second time Marshall had escaped custody within a month. He had walked away from a work crew in July 9, officials said, and was apprehended five days later.

l Billy Joe Colburn, 22, robbery, auto burglary, theft of property under $1,000, aggravated assault.
l Loreto Junior Espinosa, 31, aggravated rape of a child (18 counts)
l Brenda Carol Freeman, 54, schedule III drugs, manufacture, deliver, sell, possess (two counts).
l James Dewey Harris Jr., 38, attempted promotion of methamphetamine manufacture.
l William Jason Harris, 37, promotion of methamphetamine manufacture.
l McKenzie Drew Hickson, no age given, robbery, aggravated assault.
l Davontay Tyrell Holt, no age given, attempted aggravated robbery.
l Jeffery Scott Hutchinson, 49, schedule VI drugs.
l Andrew Phillip Marshall, 19, felony escape.
l Bobby Lee Medley, no age given, burglary - other than habitation (two counts), theft of property less than $1,000 (two counts), simple possession, possession of unlawful drug paraphernalia, possession of burglary tools.
l Dmario J. Morrow, 27, schedule II drugs, manufacture, deliver, sell, possess.
l William Benton Pamplin, 62, false reports to officer.
l David A. Ridenhour, 39, DUI: fourth or subsequent (two counts), driving on revoked licence (second or subsequent), speeding, open container.
l Ryan M. Sheehan, 24, schedule VI drugs.
* Roy Watson Smith, 50, habitual traffic offender, open container.
l Sean P. Williams, 41, unlawful possession of a weapon.
l Octavious Dayquan Wyatt, 19, attempted aggravated robbery.
Four cases were not heard by the grand jury. Crigler stated that the cases will either be presented Dec. 17 or settled in General Sessions court.
