SHELBYVILLE -- The Liberty Lady Patriots did everything they could to keep within striking distance of the visiting Moore County Raiderettes on Monday night. Despite being able to keep it close early, Moore County pulled away in the second half and held on for the 35-26 win.
The teams battled about as evenly as possible in the first half. After one quarter of play, Moore County held a slim, 7-6 lead and a 14-11 lead after two.
The Raiderettes added 21 more in the second half, besting Liberty's 15 points.
Despite the difference in the score, Liberty was never really out of the game, but just couldn't find the extra push needed to seize control of the scoreboard.
Sydney Ely led all scorers with 11 points for the Lady Pats. Kinsley Logan nearly mirrored her efforts for Moore County and added 10 for the visitors.
Liberty will host Eagleville in the regular season finale on Thursday with the opening tip off set for 6 p.m.
