HUNTLAND -- The young Webb Feet just couldn't overcome a rough first half in a 73-46 loss to the Huntland Hornets on Tuesday. Huntland scored at will from all over the floor all night long, while Webb struggled to find its momentum on the defensive side of the ball.
"We just had a horrendous first half. We didn't get back on defense. We're in a big learning process right now," said Webb coach Jeff Mitchell.
Those growing pains were expected with such a young squad of so many new faces.
Back to basics
Mitchell feels that learning the basic fundamentals of the game will be key in order to lay the foundation for the remainder of the season.
"We will improve. Right now we're trying to learn how to play and get back on defense," he said.
Chase Hullett led the Feet with an impressive 17 points.
Huntland simply had too many offensive threats and saw 10 players find their way into the scoring column, three of which broke into double digits.
Webb will look to rebound on Friday as St. Andrews Sewanee pays a visit to Bell Buckle.
