The Eagles (1-4) fell behind 16-12 at the end of the first stanza and 35-20 by halftime and that proved to be too much to overcome in the second half.
"We had talked at the beginning of the game to get off to a good start and they (Coffee Co.) came out and shot the basketball extremely well at the start of the game and we just didn't match their intensity in the first half," Central coach Stan Eggleston said. "I give Coffee County a lot of credit, they have a good basketball team."
Shelbyville outscored the Raiders 19-16 in the third stanza to cut the lead to 51-39 but the Raiders canned free throws down the stretch to secure the victory.
"We played better in the second half but they just shot the ball so well and made their free throws in the fourth quarter," Eggleston said.
Coffee County connected on 17-of 20 foul shots in the game.
Lance Crismond scored a game-high 23 point for Coffee County while Lucas Crismond followed with 15 and Addison Carter a dozen.
Sterling Smith and Tyron Wilkerson each scored 11 points to pace the Eagles with Holt Parsons and Tavist Allison each contributing eight points apiece.
"I wish we would have did a better job of getting the ball inside the paint and use our height, especially in the first half but we just didn't," Eggleston said. "We got behind and they hit their free throws late in the game."
