A holiday step into times past

Thursday, November 29, 2012

If you have grown weary of the mounting stress caused by today's hectic, networked world, perhaps it's time for something old fashioned.

On Saturday, the historic downtown of Bell Buckle will be hosting their Old Fashioned Christmas, kicking off at 10 a.m. and lasting until 5 p.m.

No matter if you are there to enjoy the lights or the old-fashioned decorations, the annual event offers a traditional experience for family and friends to cherish during the holiday spirit.

Team effort

Several groups and merchants are participating in this year's festivities to bring cheer to all who attend. Old-time carolers will be filling the air with songs, as well as a performance by the Flat Creek Dancers.

The big guy himself, Santa Claus, will be arriving in a carriage drawn by his beautiful horses, and a petting zoo will also be available, along with vendors.

Several shops in the area will be offering special sales.

Warming up

Hot chocolate and cookies will also be offered at the Bell Buckle Banquet Hall.

The event will take place even if there is snow, rain or a sudden heat wave. For more information, call (931) 389-0082 or visit their web site at http://www.bellbucklechamber.com.
