Nancy Jean Stevenson, 84, passed on November 29, 2012 at her home in Unionville, Tn. after an extended illness.
Jean Stevenson is the daughter of the late John William Boyce and Wilma Gladys Purvis of Unionville. Jean Stevenson was preceded in death by Betty Hinson, her sister, and Thomas Neal Adcock, husband and father to three boys, Wayne, Roger and Mike Adcock. Jean Stevenson was married to James Franklin Stevenson for 56 years and had three children, Kerry and Nancy Stevenson, preceded in death by sister Kristy L. Stevenson. Jean Stevenson has three brothers, Billy, John William, (Jitter), and Tom Boyce. Three sisters, Martha Clark, Margaret Smith, and Annette Ward. Jean's family consisted of 10 grandchildren and 17 great-grandchildren.
Jean Stevenson is a member of Rover Baptist church of which she felt the presence of Almighty God when entering His house. Jean had a green thumb for anything that grew from the earth, she embraced the smell and loveliness each flower held. A gift from God. Jean was blessed with talent of " can do." She was a member of the Unionville Seniors Club. Jean loved life. Thank you mom for the sacrifices you made for us so we could have a better life -- making us better people.
Visitation will be Tues., 4 p.m. -- 8 p.m. at Lawrence Funeral Home. Funeral services will be conducted at 1 p.m., Wed., Dec. 5, 2012 from the chapel of Lawrence Funeral Home. Burial will follow at Simpson Cemetery in Rover.
