A man armed with a pocket knife demanded a roll of money from a man who had agreed to loan him $20, Shelbyville police were told.
The victim said he met the assailant at the Kroger parking lot and gave him the $20 after initially turning down the request.
"As he was putting his money back up, (the suspect) pulled a folding pocket knife and put it to his throat," officer David Dye said in his report. "He demanded the rest of his money and also all of his prescription medication."
The victim handed over $260 and three bottles of medication, police said, and later began checking locations where the suspect is known to have lived.
Officers were called to a Depot Street location where the victim said the suspect was living. Officers confiscated a pocket knife in the suspect's clothing -- which does not directly match a description given -- and were told he will not allow his cell phone's call record to be seen by police without a warrant.
The suspect, who has not been charged, denied committing a robbery and told police the victim was upset after buying a malfunctioning television from him.
A woman dressed in black took an envelope containing $240 from the Walmart service desk Tuesday, police said.
A customer said she accidentally left the envelope on a counter and it was gone when she returned moments later.
Security video shows the envelope being taken, police said.
