Lady Feet fall in final seconds

Sunday, December 9, 2012

The Webb Lady Feet's game on Friday against Mt. Juliet Christian came down to the wire, but in the end, a Lady Feet shot at the buzzer banked off the iron and Webb was dealt a tough, 33-32 defeat at the hands of the Lady Saints.

Webb led through the first three quarters of play, but a 12 point, fourth quarter rally by the visitors was enough to hand Webb the loss.

Webb led 6-7 after the first quarter, 20-16 at the half, giving Webb the momentum to build on in the second half.

Catching up

The Lady Feed did just that by outscoring Mt. Juliet Christian 10-5 in the third frame, but the fourth quarter rally set up a thrilling race to the finish.

Webb had a chance to win it at the buzzer, and got the look the Lady Feet wanted, but the shot just didn't fall.

Senior Kat Coffey did everything she could to try and boost her team to the win. She accounted for 14 of Webb's points, including four treys.

Shelby Leech paced the Lady Saints with 12 points.

Webb returns to its home court on Monday when the Lady Feet welcome Columbia Academy for a showdown at 6 p.m.
