CHAPEL HILL -- Two nights after scoring 28 points in a loss against the Eagleville Eagles in the semifinals of the Duck River Valley Conference World Tournament, Jackson Wisener was a man on a mission.

He banked an impressive 20 points against the Liberty Patriots, boosting the Community Middle Vikings to a 43-33 win and securing third place in the tournament for the 2012 season.

The teams battled for control of the scoreboard in the opening frame, but Wisener took over in the second quarter.

Big surge

That second quarter surge lifted the Vikes to a 20-15 advantage at the half.

Community continued to pound away at the scoreboard, outscoring the Pats 13-7 in the third quarter, setting up a thrilling fourth quarter.

While the Vikings had a comfortable lead, the Patriots just wouldn't go away.

Austin Seibers scored five of his total 10 points in the fourth quarter, including three from the charity stripe.

Patriot effort

But even with the 11-point fourth quarter, the Patriots couldn't overcome the early deficit and the Vikings emerged with the win, securing a third place finish in the tournament.

While Wisener led the scoring, he got some key help from Ausitn Bonner, Tatan Cagle, and Michael McClain as well.

Bonner banked eight points for the winners, while Cagle and McClain combined for 10 points.

For the Patriots, Mike Sorcia paced the team with 10 points in addition to Seibers' 10 points. Chris Houston also chimed in with four.
