COLUMBIA -- It was total domination as Shelbyville Central's Golden Eagles rolled to a 69-50 victory over Lewis County in the Columbia Christmas Classic on Saturday.

Shelbyville (3-7) has won two straight games and were never challenged in this matchup.

The Eagles jumped out to a 17-10 lead and held their opponent to only two points in the second stanza to hold a 36-12 advantage at halftime.

"This was a great effort from our guys today. We play hard and were able to do some good things on both ends of the court," Central coach Stan Eggleston said. "This was a great opportunity to play a lot of players more minutes then they usually get. they put in a lot of hard work as well and they came in an really helped the team as well. That's what it's all about."

The Eagle offense continued to roll in the second half but their effort of defense was not the say at in the first half.

Shelbyville posted a 58-28 lead after three periods but was outscored 21-11 in the fourth quarter.

"Even though I was pleased with the win, we've still got to go out and finish hard no matter what the score it," Eggleston said. "I think that will come as we play more and gain more experience."
