SPARTA -- Shelbyville Central exploded for 32 points in the fourth quarter on the way to a 75-67 victory over Smith County in the fifth annual Sonic Shoot-Out.

The Eagles (4-7) trailed 17-11 after the first quarter, were on the short end of a 31-29 score at intermission and were behind 47-43 after three periods.

"After a few days off for Christmas, we were a little rusty the first three quarters but we really played well in the fourth," Central coach Stan Eggleston said. "It was a nice win but we still can't put a whole game together."

A combined 17 3-pointers were made with the Eagles connecting on nine and Smith County eight.

Sophomore Devonta Leslie and junior Sterling Smith each pitched in 16 points for the Eagles while Kendall Ray netted a dozen and Tyias Allison added 11.

Jordan Craighead scored a game-high 26 points for Smith County.

"We really had a nice balanced scoring attack and we shot 3-point shots well," Eggleston said. "Devonta Leslie really had a great game and Holt Parsons did a great job of running the offense."

The Eagles face host White County in the semifinals tonight at 6.
