Mrs. Alta McPheron Massey, age 93, of Shelbyville, passed away Friday, December 28, 2012, at Golden Living Center in Winchester.
Funeral services will be 1 PM Monday, December 31, 2012, at Feldhaus Memorial Chapel.
Reverend Charles Williams will officiate, with burial to follow in Waggoner-Buckeye Cemtery in Lynchburg.
Visitation will be 11 AM until time of service Monday.
She was born May 7, 1919, in Franklin County, to the late Robert Elmer McPheron and Nettie Shaffer McPheron. She was a retired inspector from Bedford Hosiery Mill, and a member of Whiteside Methodist Church.
She was preceded in death by her husband Harry K. Massey, sisters, Clara Shulaw, Alpha Crumrine, and Ethel Overman; brothers, Lloyd McPheron, Carl McPheron, Elmer McPheron, Gladys McPheron, son in law, Bobby Tucker.
Survivors include three daughters, Nettie Ann Hargrove of Tullahoma, Georgia Fults, and her husband David, of Shelbyville, and Helen Tucker, of Fayetteville, North Carolina; a son, Felix Robert 'Bobby" Massey, and his wife Patricia, of Smyrna; nine grandchildren, Terry Tucker, Kimberly Hammond, Tracey Caldwell, Leila Owens, John Fults, Travis Fults, Keith Massey, Sherry Massey, and Karen Massey; fourteen great grandchildren.
Feldhaus Memorial Chapel is in charge of arrangements.
