Shelbyville Hospitality, based in Shelbyville, has announced the opening of the new Microtel Inn & Suites Hotel by Wyndham. The hotel is located at 1207 North Main St., Shelbyville, next to the Huddle House and the new Baskin Robbins.

Microtel will host its official grand opening at 4:30 p.m. on Jan. 15.

Microtel features 62 rooms, including single, double and suite accommodations.

According to a press release, property highlights will offer a vibrant color palette known as "cappuccino," integrating rich colors to create a comfortable, inviting atmosphere and consistent theme throughout. All guestrooms feature state of the art Dish Network, a flat-panel HD T.V., sleek granite countertops, and desk units with easily accessible power and data ports. Other highlights include "Dream Well Pillow Beds" with triple sheeting, complimentary local and long distance calls within the continental United States, free high-speed wired and wireless internet access, in-room coffee makers, irons and ironing boards, hair dryers and complimentary continental breakfasts.

"It gives us great pleasure to be able to bring quality and affordable award winning lodging accommodations to the Shelbyville community and we look forward to welcoming travelers to the area's newest hotel," said hotel owners Dennis Young Sr. and Aubrey Cawthon.

They said the Microtel Inn & Suites by Wyndham is an excellent fit for Shelbyville and the growing demand of business and leisure travelers visiting attractions such as The Celebration and the Calsonic Arena, located a mile from the facility.

The Microtel Inn & Suites by Wyndham will support the more than 37 Calsonic events presently and will help bring more tourists to the Shelbyville area, the owners said. Some events held at Calsonic, typically known as an equestrian facility, include the Ringling Brothers Circus, rodeos, Motocross, dog shows, 4-H shows and car shows.

Additionally, Shelbyville and Bedford County are home to a variety of craft fairs, festivals and offers popular shopping and dining.
