Webb Middle boys halt Riverside but girls fall

Wednesday, January 9, 2013

After three weeks off, the Webb Middle boys took on non-conference Riverside Christian and won 37-26 Tuesday.

"We had great effort tonight. We made a lot of errors early in the game, but the hustle on defense and on the glass helped us to overcome those mistakes," said Webb coach James Garcia.

Both squads struggled early but Webb led by 1 at halftime.

Jack North added 10 of his game-leading 16 points in the final two quarters. RCA made a run at the Feet in the third, but Webb slammed the door shut with a 16-point final frame.

Webb (5-3, 4-0 MTAC) hosts St. Andrews-Sewanee Wednesday.

"We still have a month left in the season and a lot of room for growth. If we can fix some little things we should finish the year on a positive note," Garcia said.
