Mrs. Mary Stephens Edwards Fox, 94, of Shelbyville died Thursday, January 10th at Heritage Medical Center. She was a native of Bedford County; former owner/operator of The Woodshed Arts and Craft Shop; a member of First Baptist Church; former Worthy Matron of the Eastern Star where she was a member for over 60 years; a member of D.A.R.; a member of the Shelbyville Women's Club and the Shelbyville Arts Council; former member of the Retail Merchants Association. She started Christmas Village and was in charge of it for 20 years. She was former credit manager of Sears for 16 years and former owner of the Shelbyville Monument Company and former receptionist for the Bedford County Senior Citizens Center.
She was the daughter of the late William Edgar and Myrtle O'Steen Stephens. She was preceded in death by her husbands, Leon Finney, Karl Edwards and Dee Fox Jr.
She is survived by three daughters, Carolyn Reeves of Philadelphia, Tennessee, Marlene (Wayne) Myers, Leona (Terry) Head of Shelbyville; five grandchildren, Shena Cothran, Tena Melson, Jamie Adcock, Tara Driver, Heather Nerren; and nine great-grandchildren, Hannah, Barrett and Sarah Melson, Ellie and Zach Cothran, Bryson Adcock, Dylan Adams, Grant Nerren and Caroline Driver.
Her life touched so many. She lived a life of integrity. She loved her family and friends. She loved God and displayed his love to everyone she knew. Her true devotion to her family will be missed. Her spirit and the values she instilled will live on forever. Meme will be missed immensely by her family and friends.
Funeral Services will be held 2:00 P.M. Saturday, January 12th, at Hillcrest Funeral Home, Rev. Ron Chilton and Rev. Joe Thompson officiating. Burial will follow at Willow Mount Cemetery. Visitation will be Friday evening from 4:00 P.M. to 8:00 P.M.
