Balanced offense leads Harris

A balanced scoring attack help conference leader Harris Middle to a 55-41 victory over visiting Tullahoma West in a Central Tennessee Conference match up on Saturday.

Three players scored in double figures for the Eaglettes (11-2, 11-1 CTC) to lead the way.

Seventh-grade point guard Jenna Holt pitched in 14 points, including a dozen in the second stanza. Romny Felts netted 13 and Kenzie Hobbs contributed 10. Kelly Smith tacked on nine for the winners.

Shyannie Sheffield scored 20 points for West, including 16 in the second half while Alasia Vaughn added 11.

After playing to 13-all at the end of the first quarter, the Eaglettes blew the game open by outscoring their ipponent 28-3 in the second frame to post a 41-16 advantage at halftime.

Harris increased the lead to 54-23 before West made a run in the fourth stanza against Eaglette reserves.

The Eaglettes return to action this afternoon at 4:30 in a non-conference match up against Christiana Middle.
