Community started out quickly behind two 3-pointers by and Tyler Paschal and a trey by Tanner Simmons to lead 14-9 after one quarter.
The Vikings continued to run the floor and the shots were falling to enter intermission with a 26-19 cushion despite a running 50-footer that hit nothing but net by the Warriors' Julius Armstrong at the buzzer.
"I told our guys at the half that our season has been a tale of two halves," Viking coach Robbie Davis said.
"If we just played halves we would have a pretty good record. It just goes from a great pace and everything going real smooth to just a struggle to play the game."
The Warriors scratched and clawed their way back in the third quarter to pull to within 35-32 behind six points by Tim Creps.
A see-saw physical fourth period played at a furious pace saw the Warriors battle their way to the lead on a basket by Creps with just two minutes to play before the Vikings took control.
Luke Primm's steal and full court layup tied the game and Logan Pierce hit three clutch free throws in the closing seconds to put the game away for the Vikings.
"What we did do better tonight was we fought back better than we have been doing," Davis said.
"I know that we were a little tired physically and mentally after a big game on Friday night but we had a chance to put this team away early in the game and just couldn't get separation like we should have.
"We did make some plays to win the game at the end though and we can build on that with a big district game coming up on Tuesday."
Primm had 11 to lead the Vikes. Zeke Grissom added nine.
Armstrong posted 11 for the Warriors with Creps right behind him with 10.
The Vikings hit 17-of-28 free throws.
