WINCHESTER -- In one of their worst efforts of the season. Shelbyville Central lost a 58-48 decision to host Franklin County in a battle of win-less teams coming in District 8-AAA.

"Without a doubt I think this is our worst effort thus far. I didn't see any energy or enthusiasm out there and this is just one of those night we just didn't bring it," Central coach Stan Eggleston said.

"We just didn't play hard enough to win. We just got out played."

Sophomore Tavist Allison led the Eagles with 18 points against Franklin County on Tuesday.

The Rebels took control early posting leads of 15-10 at the end of the first quarter, 36-23 at intermission and 49-37 after three periods.

"I remember us missing at least seven layups and when you miss that many layups and you end up losing by 10 points, that's pretty much the ball game," Eggleston said.

"We missed too many point-blank opportunities, we didn't go to the boards. It was just not a good outing for us."

Tyler Schaub led the winners with 18 points, including five 3-pointers while Montrez Vanzant netted 16 and Robert Jordan 15.

Tavist Allison pitched in a game-high 21 points for Shelbyville.

The Eagles (4-12, 0-5 8-AAA) travel to Lincoln County on Friday for another district match up at 7:30.
