FAYETTEVILLE -- Friday night had its ups and downs for the Webb Feet, but after it was all said and done coach Jeff Mitchell and his players walked away with a 62-51 victory over the Riverside Christian Academy Raiders.

Both teams started off slow in the first as the Raiders led the Feet 7-3 after one, but the pace soon picked up as the Raiders' leading scorer, Corey Albert, hit the lane several times, scoring seven second-quarter points.

Albert wasn't the only one finding the lane early.

Webb's Branson Popp began to find his groove as he was able to score five points in the quarter, showing the Raiders a preview of what was soon to come.

After two, the Raiders led the Feet by eight points, 27-19.

Entering the third quarter, the Feet looked to break a trend that has plagued them all season, losing the third quarter.

"We average getting beat in the third quarter alone by 10, and we won this third quarter by 10 or so, which is a big deal for us. It got us back in the game and gave us a little confidence." Mitchell said.

The Feet outscored the Raiders 23-14 in the third quarter as Popp dominated the paint scoring 11 of the 23 points. The Feet went on an early 7-0 run in the third to cut the Raiders lead to one, and were able to keep it close the rest of the game as they led 42-41 after three.

The fourth was icing on the cake as the Feet pulled away from the Raider and led by as many as 12 during the final stretch. Chase Hullett was able to go 6-for-6 from the line in the fourth to help the Feet secure their second win of the season.

"In that second half I was tight as a drum because I wanted it so bad for them because the kids have been working so hard," Mitchell said.

Popp played a major part in the Feet's win as he was able to post 21 points and walk away with 26 rebounds. Hullett had a big night as he scored 11 on the night, including a 6-for-8 performance from the line and hitting the Feet's only 3-pointer. Corey Albert led the Raiders with 19.

The Feet look to create a winning streak as they head to Zion Christian on Monday, and play after the Lady Feet's 6 p.m. tip-off.
