Three sobriety checkpoints will be held in Bedford County during February, the Tennessee Highway Patrol said Monday.
Checkpoints are planned for:
* U.S. 41A at the 3.9 mile marker, 10 a.m. on Fri., Feb. 1
* State Route 82 at the 6.5 mile marker, 10 p.m. on Fri., Feb. 8
* State Route 64 at the 18 mile marker, 10 a.m. on Fri., Feb. 15
The THP specifies locations only by mile markers.
"Recognizing the danger presented to the public by unqualified drivers, troopers will concentrate their efforts on vehicles being operated by drivers who violate the driver's license laws of Tennessee," a THP press release said.
"The THP has found these driver's license roadside checkpoints to be an effective means of enforcing driver's license laws of Tennessee while ensuring the protection of all motorists."
