Two local families are holding benefit events soon.
The family of Stephen Morgan is holding a benefit for him at 4 p.m. on Feb. 16 at the Agriculture Center.
The Shelbyville resident has been diagnosed with Stage Four lung cancer. He is self-employed and has no insurance. All proceeds will go toward medical and travel expenses.
A country band, Three Point Hitch, will perform at the benefit, and barbecue and hot dog plates will be available for $6. An auction will follow. Call 434-3044 or 205-1149 for more information.
Also, the family of Lori Cunningham is holding a benefit at 11 a.m. on March 16 at the Agriculture Center. Cunningham is in need of a liver transplant. There will be barbecue plates, an auction and a baked good sale. Donations of auction items are needed. Call 695-5469 for more information.
