UNIONVILLE -- It was not even close.

Blake Fanning, Tanner Simmons and Logan Pierce split 46 points between them and the Community Vikings plundered the Raiders by a 76-59 count to split the season series on Friday night.

Community controlled the tempo from the opening whistle to the final horn taking it to Moore County with a swarming press and a hard charging, relentless offensive assault that concluded with 11 players scoring in the game.

"We came ready to play tonight," Viking coach Robbie Davis said.

"Our first group came out and set the pace and the second five came in and extended the lead.

"I told them tonight that I wanted to up the tempo. It starts with getting it up the floor and Luke (Primm) distributing the ball to guys in open spaces.

"We got 33 points from the post position tonight with Tanner and Blake and that is just where we need to be with our offense."

The Purple and Gold jumped out to an early advantage behind 3-point goals by Tyler Cowan, Taylor Paschal and Fanning and a four point effort by Pierce to lead 18-8 at the end of quarter one.

The visitors managed to pick up the pace offensively a bit in the second frame but the Vikings answered each run to maintain a 36-23 advantage going to the intermission.

Dillon Davis netted six points in the third period for the visitors but Simmons matched that total and Fanning pitched in with four points to stretch the Viking lead to 52-38 at the conclusion of the quarter.

"I was pleased that our guys never let up tonight," Davis said.

"We attacked the basket and maintained intensity on the defensive side of the ball. The results speak for themselves."

The Community bench enjoined the fray early in the fourth to put up 24 points to account for the final score.

Fanning was top scorer with 18 points. Simmons had 15 and Pierce netted 13 for the Vikings.

Dalton Barrier led Moore County with 10.
