Webb had its chances on Monday night, but struggled following the break in a disappointing 54-46 road loss to Mount Juliet Christian.
The Feet burst out of the gates and looked to be in control following a 17-point first quarter.
Mount Juliet Christian, although not struggling on offense, couldn't to maintain Webb's pace of play in the opening frame and fell behind 17-11.
Webb's hot offense did slow down a bit in the second quarter, and MJCA was able to match the Feet's nine points, but still finished down six points to the visitors following the first half.
While Webb played well enough to be in contention to potentially win the game, the wheels came flying off in the third.
"It was a tale of two halves, and we just didn't come out with the same intensity in the second half," said Webb coach Jeff Mitchell.
MJCA responded and recaptured the lead by outscoring Webb 17-8 in the third to zap all of the momentum from the Feet.
Webb answered with 12 more in the fourth, but MJCA slammed the door shut with another 17 point quarter to secure the victory.
MJCA's Trevor West was a force to be reckoned with, piling up a game-high 24 points. Webb got key points from Chase Hullett and Branson Popp, who accounted for 10 and 15, respectively.
Webb also saw 14 more points fall courtesy of Rod Walsh.
Webb 17 9 8 12 -- 46
MJCA 11 9 17 17 -- 54
Webb: Branson Popp 15, Rod Walsh 14, Chase Hullett 10, Dapo Omitowoju 3, Deion Nixon 2.
MJCA: Trevor West 24, Jackson Harrell 13, Alex Graves 8, Zack Jones 7, Brandon Wall 2.
Davidson 58, Webb 41 -- On Saturday, Webb competed, and competed hard against visiting Davidson Academy, but couldn't quite slow down the visitors' ranged attack in a 58-41 loss.
Davidson Academy jumped out to a 17-10 lead after one quarter of play, but couldn't fend off a pesky Webb team in the second quarter.
Despite the hot-hands of the Davidson Academy shooters, Webb still finished the first half well-within striking distance being down just seven points.
"Gotta give Davidson Academy credit, they shot the lights out. The kids competed, but we were playing from behind the entire game," said Mitchell.
Although the Feet were able to linger around, Davidson went to the perimeter attack again in the fourth and pulled away for good.
In all, the visitors had 10 treys, most all of which were being contested and defended against, according to Mitchell.
Offensively for Webb, Chase Hullett paced the team with 18 points while Branson Popp added 12.
Webb returns home this evening against Zion Christian with the opening tip-off set for 7:30.
Webb 10 10 10 11 -- 41
Davidson Acad 17 10 13 18 -- 58
Webb: Chase Hullett 18, Branson Popp 12, Rod Walsh 6, Robert Windahm 4, Shiro Burnette 1.
