Trivia contest tests your knowledge of the big game

Tuesday, January 29, 2013

You don't have to be a fan of the Ravens or 49ers to win your own big game this year.

The Times-Gazette's annual Super Sunday Game Trivia returns this week, with great prizes being awarded to the first, second and third place winners of participants who correctly answer six trivia questions testing your Super Bowl knowledge.

Starting today, readers can answer the trivia questions and submit their answers online or via a paper ballot (in today's paper).

The first place winner will receive a $200 gift certificate to Athlon Sports (for the collectable of your choice from the Athlon Sports store). Second place will receive a $40 gift certificate to Toot's South in Murfreesboro, and the third place winner will pick up two large pizzas with breadsticks and Coca-Cola from Domino's in Shelbyville.

Last year, in a blow against gender stereotypes, all three winners of the Times-Gazette's Super Sunday Trivia contest were women. Vickie Campbell of Shelbyville won first prize, Connie Crafton of Shelbyville took the second prize, while Tammy Richardson of Shelbyville won third prize. More than 170 entered last year; 101 were women.

How to enter

The game is open to fans of both online and print media. If you wish to play online, go to http://t-g.upickem.net/upickem/registrat... to answer questions and submit your entry form. Or, check out the trivia questions inside today's print edition, and deliver your entry to our office at 323 E. Depot St. or by mail to the Shelbyville Times-Gazette, P.O. Box 380, Shelbyville, TN 37162.

The deadline to enter is noon on Monday, Feb. 4. Entries who correctly answer the six questions will be eligible for a drawing, and winners will be announced Tuesday, Feb. 5 in the T-G.

Just for fun, the T-G also invites readers to check out t-g.com after the game to vote for your favorite Super Bowl commercial.
