CLARKSVILLE -- Chalk up another blowout win for the Harris Middle Eaglettes.
The Eaglettes picked up another dominating win on Tuesday night in the TMSAA Area/Sectional Tournament, blowing out Kenwood 49-27.
Early on, there was little debate about who was in control of Tuesday's matchup. The Eaglettes raced out to a 17-3 advantage after one quarter of play, jumping on the backs of Erin Thomason and Romny Felts, who combined for 11 of the team's first 17 points.
The Eaglettes didn't let off the throttle either.
Harris continued to pound away at the scoreboard in the second with a balanced attack of points in the paint and a couple of 3-pointers as well.
Felts led the charge inside, knocking down seven points, while Emma Haynes and Keely Smith added key 3-pointers.
By the end of the first half, Harris held an astounding 37-8 advantage over Kenwood.
The second half was more of the same for the Eaglettes, but Harris eventually hit cruise control in the fourth quarter and Kenwood jumped on the chance to score some points.
Despite the opportunity, the damage was done and Harris cruised to the 49-27 win.
Felts and Thomason posted game-high scores of 13 points, with Haynes adding seven.
The Eaglettes head back to Clarksville for more postseason action on Thursday where they will face the winner of the Rossview-Rock Springs game at 5:30 p.m.
