LAWRENCEBURG -- It's a game the Golden Eagles would just soon forget.

Shelbyville Central took a hard 80-48 loss at Lawrence County in a District 8-AAA contest on Tuesday night.

"We just didn't play well, especially on defense," Central coach Stan Eggleston said.

"We've got to get a lot better on the defensive end. They really took it to us inside the paint in the second half and we couldn't stop them."

The Wildcats led 20-14 at the end of the first quarter, 37-24 at halftime and 62-38 after three periods.

Kade Skinner did the damage inside the paint scoring a game-high 27 points. Heath Mansfield pitched in 16 and Cody Long added 11 for the winners.

Junior Kendall Ray tossed in 13 and freshman David Parson scored a dozen points off four 3-pointers. Devonta Leslie added 10 for the Eagles.

Shelbyville (6-17, 1-8 8-AAA) entertains district foe Franklin County for homecoming on Friday night at 7:30.
