Got a hunger to win? We'll fill your appetite

Here's your chance to feed your hunger to win -- and, literally, feed yourself and your family.

It's the $1,000 Grocery Give-Away sponsored by the Shelbyville Times-Gazette and Kroger of Shelbyville. Ten lucky entrants will win $100 gift cards from Kroger, 1010 North Main St. -- perfect for that end-of-summer family cookout.

Look for a special section in the Times-Gazette on Sunday, July 28. Inside you'll find $1,000 Grocery Give-Away logos hidden in the advertisements. Count the total number of logos in the section (except the front and back pages) and enter the total number on an entry form in the section.

It's fun -- and exciting. And it seems that every T-G contest includes winners who haven't won a contest in years -- if ever.

"I almost passed out when I found out I'd won," said Tabi Baker, who won $250 in gas cards last year. She said she'd never won any of many contests she'd entered.

"I entered the contest just for something to do," said Vernon Allison, winner in a T-G gas contest last summer. "I've only won one other contest, when I won $1,000 in groceries just after my wife and I got married."

How to enter

Bring the entry forms to the Times-Gazette or Kroger of Shelbyville -- and be ready to win! Entry boxes will be available at both locations. No photo copies will be accepted.

Entry deadline Wednesday, Aug. 7 and winners announced Sunday, Aug. 11 in the Times-Gazette.

Advertisers who wish to participate in the $1,000 Grocery Giveaway can call the T-G advertising department at 684-1200.
