A woman from Shelbyville has been charged in a human trafficking case in Lake Charles, La., officials there say.

Jessica Lynne Morgan, 24, was arrested at a Lake Charles motel at 1 a.m. Monday along with Ivory Charles Pantallion III, 33, of Beaumont, Texas, according to a press release from the Lake Charles Police Department.

They are accused of taking a 19-year-old Huntsville, Ala., woman to Louisiana. The woman left willingly but upon reaching Louisiana was told she would be forced to work as a prostitute, police said. She is now safe with her parents.

Both suspects are charged with human trafficking and simple kidnapping. Bond was set at $500,000 for Morgan and $1 million for Pantallion.

The victim's mother told Lake Charles police Sunday her daughter, who had been missing since Sept. 20, was being held against her will and the lives of her and her family were being threatened. A missing persons report had been filed in Huntsville.

Attempt fails

Upon arrival in Louisiana, the victim's cell phone was taken away and she was given a prepaid cell phone.

"The victim was shown a website advertising her as an escort and was told she would provide escort services for men," a press release from the Lake Charles Police Department states.

"After one night in Beaumont, Texas, the victim and both suspects traveled to Lake Charles, where the suspects established another personal web page advertising the victim as an escort in the Lake Charles area."

The victim was able to contact her mother, who helped Lake Charles police discover her location.

Past record

Morgan was charged with prostitution in Houston, Texas, on June 6, according to the website harriscountyarrests.com. She gave an address of North Thompson Street in Shelbyville at that time. T-G records checks show no recent arrests in Shelbyville.

Pantallion is a rap artist with UGK Records of Port Arthur, Texas, KBMT-TV of Beaumont reported.

His rap name is Ivory P and he goes by Ivory Pimping on his Facebook page, where he posted that he studied "pimpology," KBMT reports.

He has an arrest record dating to the 1980s, the TV station said.
