The Pre-K children at Thomas Magnet School almost missed an opportunity to visit with Santa during their Monday night holiday program. The scheduled Santa had to cancel the day of the event and the teachers were worried there wouldn't be a Santa available on such short notice. Luckily, after a call from Pre-K teacher Delicia Hyatt, Bill Doak from Doak and Howell Funeral Home was able to fill in for Santa.

"After we thanked him," said Hyatt, "[Bill] said, 'Well, it is all about the kids.' This is definitely what the Christmas spirit is all about."

Doak returned again as Santa for the Thomas Magnet School's Christmas Assembly. At the assembly, Principal Dr. LeEllen Carter and Vice Principal Tracy Watson read a Christmas story. Carl Keating, music teacher, performed holiday songs.
