Grocery Give-Away in Sunday's T-G
It's almost time for this year's $1,000 Grocery Give-Away, sponsored by the Times-Gazette and Kroger.
A special section with an entry form will be published in Sunday's Times-Gazette. Readers will count up the number of Grocery Give-Away logos in the section and write that number on the entry form.
Ten winners will be drawn from among correct entries, and each of the winners will receive a $100 Kroger gift card.
Last year's winners were thrilled to get a little bit of help with their regular grocery bill. Alisha Humphrey, for example, got two pieces of good news on the same day -- she found out she was a winner of the contest, and that police had captured the man who burglarized her apartment.
Harvey Williams' wife Wanda filled out an entry form and signed his name to it. "I put your name on everything," she told him. He couldn't complain, though, as their entry turned out to be a winner.
College student Amanda Johnson was thrilled to have the $100 Kroger card, which she planned to use as gas money.
Seven other lucky winners took home gift cards as well.
How to enter
To enter this year's contest, look for the Sunday print edition of the Times-Gazette at locations throughout Shelbyville (or call 684-1200 to start home delivery). The paper will include a special contest section.
Count the number of game logos in the section and fill out the entry form, including that number. Bring the entry form to Kroger, 1010 North Main St., or to the Times-Gazette, 323 East Depot St. You can also mail it to the Times-Gazette, P.O. Box 380, Shelbyville TN 37162.
All entry forms must be received by Thursday, Aug. 6 to be eligible for the random drawing. Winners will be announced Sunday, Aug. 9.
