Let newcomers pay a wheel tax

(Editor's note: This letter was written before Tuesday's wheel tax referendum, in which the proposal was voted down.)

To the editor:

Every time the people that run this county need more money with the idea of a wheel tax.

If we don't vote it in then they come back with we will have to raise our property tax. Why not make the influx of the people coming into the county pay. They are a lot of the reason we need the money,

How about if you pass the wheel tax (which will never go away and will go up) let the people that don't own property here pay the wheel tax and anyone that brings in their property tax form not have to pay a wheel tax. If you own more than one vehicle you will pay more than the property tax will and increases will cost you, so the property owners get the burden anyway.
