Letters to the Editor, March 17
Thank you for your support
To the Editor:
I want to take this opportunity to thank the mayor, council and the other employees of the city for 16 1/2 years to be your Public Works director. It has been a pleasure to serve the citizens of this great community over these past few years.
I want to thank the mayor, council and the Public Works employees for all their support for me during my tenure in this position. I also want to thank the taxpayers for their humbling support regarding this change in my career. I hope in my new position to still be active in the community and to help in any way to make this the best community in the state. I want to thank the other department heads I have worked with and their employees for the friendship and teamwork that a city needs to be successful.
As I move to another chapter of my life, I will always cherish the time and relationships I have made over the last 16 years. Thank you again for the support and confidence during my employment as your Public Works director.
Mark A. Clanton
Thanks, Mark, for good work
To the Editor:
I was sorry to read that Mark Clanton is leaving his post as public works director for Shelbyville.
He's a good man and has gone way beyond his regular assigned duties in dealing with our "flume flops." It is my belief that his knowledge, experiences and devotion to his job have saved the people of Shelbyville many, many dollars.
Thank you, Mark. Good luck in the future, and God bless.
