How's your appetite for free groceries?

Kroger and the Times-Gazette are teaming up again for the annual Big $1,000 Grocery Give-away.

Ten winners will each claim a $100 Kroger gift card. The card can be used at Kroger gas pumps as well.

"Our winners are always thrilled at winning extra money in the summer," Times-Gazette publisher Hugh Jones said.

Special section

The Sunday, July 24 edition of the Times-Gazette will include a special Big $1,000 Grocery Give-away section with the game logo hidden in many advertisements.

Readers can count the logos and write the number on the entry form included in the section.

You can then:

  • Drop it off at Kroger, 1010 North Main St.;
  • Drop it off at the Times-Gazette, 323 East Depot St.;
  • Mail it to Big $1,000 Grocery Give-away, Shelbyville Times-Gazette, P.O. Box 380, Shelbyville TN 37162.

Entries must be received by Wednesday, Aug. 3. (The deadline is 4 p.m. that day for hand-delivered entries.)

Lucky winners will be announced on Sunday, Aug. 7.

Businesses seeking to advertise must reserve their space quickly as the Grocery Give-away is one of the biggest contests of the year and space always sells out.
