T-G to publish church directory
Bedford County has scores of churches, representing a variety of different denominations and styles of worship. There are big churches, small churches, services with reverent high-church liturgy, services that sway to the beat of a contemporary worship band, and services where old-time hymns are accompanied by nothing more than an upright piano. There are women's groups, men's groups, programs for children and youth.
Newcomers to the community, or others who find themselves seeking a place for worship and fellowship, can benefit from information about what's available. That's why the Times-Gazette will produce a church directory in full color in a glossy magazine format, to be released the week of Sept. 19.
The publication will be made available through the Chamber of Commerce, real estate agencies, hotels, health care facilities and retail businesses, as well as through churches themselves. It will also be available in digital "flipbook" format at the t-g.com website, including links to the websites of participating churches.
There will be a directory listing of all churches, but there will also be opportunities for churches to invest in half or full pages which will showcase what they have to offer. There will also be messages from businesses with words of support for the faith community.
For more information about how your church can be included, contact Sissy Smith, Diandra Womble or Christy Davis at the Times-Gazette's display advertising department, 931-684-1200.
