Letter to the Editor, Dec. 8
City officials doing a fine job for public
To the editor:
During this time of Thanksgiving I have found that Moody's Investor Services says the City of Shelbyville has "Rating reflects a very healthy financial position." among other good facts about Shelbyville.
So as an owner of two businesses that service the citizens of this fine city and surrounding area I am taking this time to say "Thank You" to the City Council, Mayor Cartwright, Jamey Owen (Treasurer) and City Manager Jay Johnson for doing a great job. These folks have been good stewards of the city's funds.
It has been years since the city has been sued which costs a lot to defend even if the city wins and a lot more if the case is lost.
In particular, I want to say I am thankful for the professionalism and experience that Mr. Jay Johnson brings to our city. His 40 years of experience and degree in Public Administration and contacts in the public service arena has helped guide the Council and Department Heads in ways that have obviously benefited us all.
Thank you and Happy Thanksgiving to all!
