Edna Ophelia Isom
Mrs. Edna Ophelia Isom, 96, of Shelbyville died Tuesday, January 10th.
She was a native of Bedford County; a homemaker and a member of First Presbyterian Church. She lived a long and very rewarding life. She and her late husband, Wiley Samuel "Slick" Isom, traveled the world before his death in 2003.
Mrs. Isom was the daughter of the late Neil Coble Lokey and Lydia Phillips Lokey. She is survived by children, Wiley Samuel "Sam" (Gayle) Isom II of Brentwood, Barbara Isom of Ceres, California, James "Bud" (Nancy) Isom of Aiken, South Carolina, Melvyn B. (Pam) Isom of Guys, Tennessee; a sister, Lena Newell Smith of Shelbyville; thirteen grandchildren; fifteen great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren.
Funeral Services will be held 11:00 A.M. Saturday, January 14th, at First Presbyterian Church, Rev. Allen Cross officiating. Burial will follow at Holt Cemetery. Visitation will be Friday evening from 4:00 P.M. to 8:00 P.M. at Hillcrest Funeral Home. Honorary pallbearers will be the Carriage House Inn and The Heart Remembers staff.
