Praise for magnet school staff

To the Editor:

I am the grandmother of a student at Thomas Magnet School, whom I pick up daily.

I have had ample opportunity to observe the staff of this school. These teachers, as well as the principal and vice principal, take very good care of these students. They escort the children up the steps from the school to the buses, talking and playing with them. They don't portray someone that is just doing their job; they seem to really enjoy what they do. I have seen the teachers take a child that is in a wheelchair to the car where his mother is waiting. They don't just take him there, they help load him in the car.

On more than one occasion, I have observed a car become stalled while in line. Well, here come Dr. Carter, Mrs. Watson, and several teachers to push the car out of line to free up the other cars behind the one stalled. I think they are not too timid to try what it takes to keep the school running smoothly and properly. This is a wonderful school, with a wonderful staff.

I am sure the other schools have great teachers and staff, this just happens to be the one with which I am affiliated.
