Felton David Gill
Mr. Felton David Gill, age 86, of Shelbyville passed away gently, Sunday, March 19, 2017, at Alive Hospice in Nashville.
Funeral services will be 11 AM Thursday, March 23, 2017, at Feldhaus Memorial Chapel. Reverend Lanita Monroe and Robert Gill “Buzzy” Neil Jr. will officiate, with burial to follow in Hillcrest Memorial Gardens.
The family will receive visitors 4-7 PM Wednesday, March 22, 2017, at the funeral home.
Felton was born February 22, 1931, in Allensville, Kentucky, to the late Joe McClure and Fannie Rice Gill. He was retired from Lance Incorporated, and was know as “Cookie Man”, especially by the children he let raid his truck. He retired in February of this year from Southeastern Technology. He was a fan of NASCAR, and loved working in his yard. According to his family and his co-workers, he was a joy to work with, a perfect gentleman, and a most “Christian Man.”
In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by a brother and sisters, Joe Gill, Fannie Lawson and Mamie Dougthit.
Survivors include his wife, Frances Stokes Gill, of Shelbyville; sons and daughters, Douglas F. (Lori) Gill, Kay Gill (Donald) Phillips, both of Topeka, Kansas, Wendy Gunn (Jim) Dehaan, of Ortonville, Michigan, Timothy (Amy) Gunn, of Christiana, and Tony Gunn, of Tullahoma; grandchildren, Hunter Phillips, Daniel Phillips, Matthew Phillips, David Gill, Dana Gill, Lindsey Andrews, Jordon Gunn, Colton Gunn, Parker Gunn, and Robbie Dehaan; a great-grandchild, Hayes Andrews.
