R.W. Smith Company is continuing construction of an 18,900 square foot shopping center for Sofran Partners LLC adjoining the Kroger store on North Main Street.

Announced tenants include Petsense; Hwy 55 Burgers, Shakes and Fries; Pizza Hut; and Lee Spa Nails, with additional space available. The building will be turned over to tenants in the first quarter of 2018.

Meet the tenants

Petsense sells pet food, grooming supplies and other pet-related products, as well as services such as grooming. It does not sell pets; instead, it encourages adoption through local shelters. The chain is owned by Brentwood-based Tractor Supply Company, which already operates a TSC location in Shelbyville.

Hwy 55 Burgers, based in North Carolina, is a 1950s-themed restaurant chain featuring hamburgers, cheesesteaks and frozen custard. It offers both table seating and lunch counter seating with an open grill design. The chain has an existing location in Lewisburg.

The Pizza Hut will be one of the chainís storefront locations, offering delivery and takeout but no dine-in option. The chain has an existing dine-in location on Lane Parkway in Shelbyville.

Lee Spa Nails is a chain of salons offering manicures, pedicures, nail enhancements and body waxing.

The center

Atlanta-based Sofran developed the Kroger store at the site in 2003 and announced at the time that additional retailers would be forthcoming. The entire development, including Kroger, the new shopping center, Burger King and the Express NCW Car Wash, is known as Shelbyville Square.

The Kroger store is currently being remodeled.
