Feet too physical for Ezell-Harding to handle
BELL BUCKLE — Ezell-Harding was no match for the Webb School’s sheer physicality on Tuesday night. The Feet used a 7-0 run in the first quarter to pull away from the visiting Eagles and never allowed a comeback effort in a 57-26 Feet victory.
Webb’s suffocating defense gave the Eagles issues even working the ball across half-court from the opening tip-off.
With that full-court pressure in full effect, Webb was able to work the ball in transition and never let Ezell-Harding settle into its rhythm.
Trailing 3-2 early, Webb recaptured the lead on a dunk by sophomore Keon Johnson with 4:52 left in the first quarter.
From there, Webb was able to work the ball into Wesley Hennis’ hands, who scored a pair of buckets from the paint in the first half, before rattling loose for eight second-half points.
But the biggest offensive contributor came from Johnson, who scored 10 of his game-high 21 points in the second quarter.
Jordan Jenkins also had a big night, adding 13, while Hennis chipped in 13.
Webb managed just one 3-point goal, which came from Jenkins early in the third quarter.
Webb will return home on Friday night and host Knowledge Academy at 6 p.m.
