Vikings share wealth in win over Hawks
HAMPSHIRE — Eleven Community Vikings shared in the scoring as the Vikings went on the road and defeated the Hampshire Hawks 60-38 in a non-district basketball tilt Thursday night.
Tyrese Eady scored eight points as the Vikings got off to an early lead. Community (9-10) ended the first quarter with a 20-14 advantage.
It was Corde Lane scoring six points from the inside as the Vikings outscored the Hawks 16-6 in the second quarter. The Vikings took a 36-20 lead into halftime.
Alex Mitchell and Dillon Whitaker both connected on treys in the third quarter as Community outscored Hampshire 12-8 and took a 48-28 lead into the final quarter.
Reserves saw plenty of action in the quarter as Community upped its lead. Will Reed scored four points as the Vikings ended with the 22-point win.
Eady scored 12 points while Lane had 10 for the Vikings.
Hunter Jones led Hampshire with 10 points.
Community entertains Marshall County for homecoming in a District 12-AA game tonight at 7:30 p.m.
