Marvin Gene Pinkston
Funeral services for Marvin Gene Pinkston, age 75, of Shelbyville, will be held 2:00 p.m. Saturday, February 17, 2018, in the chapel of Doak-Howell Funeral Home with Brother Scott Reed officiating. Burial will follow in Willow Mount Cemetery. Mr. Pinkston passed away peacefully Wednesday, February 14, 2018, at home.
Visitation will be held 11:00 a.m. until service time Saturday, February 17, 2018, at the funeral home.
Born July 15, 1942, in Bedford County, Marvin was the son of the late William M. and Mary Louella Philpot and is preceded in death by: wife, Carolyn Elaine Pinkston; brother, Carl Pinkston; and sister, Bettye Angus.
Marvin retired from Stanley Tool after 25+ years of employment. After his retirement he spent his time farming, woodworking, gardening, and spending time with family.
Survivors include; children, Wade Pinkston of Nashville, Renee Cummings of McMinnville, John “Bo” (Denise) Bowen of Bell Buckle, David (Kris) Bowen of CA, Dawn Jones of Shelbyville, 15 grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren; siblings, Donald Pinkston, Mary Ray, Virgie Dulin, Margie Ann McCullough, Linda K. Pinkston, and Eva (Tim) Kelly.
Memorial Donations may be made to the American Heart Association or to Hospice Compassus.
