Mavoureen Joyce Clark Register
Mavoureen Joyce Clark Register, 84, died on Friday, March 9, 2018, at her home on the Tennessee River in Humphreys County.
She was born in Coffee County, Tennessee, on May 2, 1933, to David and Edna Clark, who, along with her beloved husband of 63 years, Robert (Bobby), preceded her in death, as did her sisters Daisy and Juanita and brothers Nellon and David.
Joyce is survived by her children, Rachel Eva (Bryce) Dixon, Robert Register, Jr., Roger (Renee) Register, Ray Register (Brian Duff), and Regan (Darrell) Soloman. She is also survived by her grandchildren, Gabriel and Matthew Dixon, Caitlin Kavoosifar, Lexie and Imre Soloman, and Marea Sprikut, and by her great-grandchildren Roman, Gia, Liam, Luke, and Isla Dixon and Eva Kavoosifar, and by many nieces and nephews.
A great animal lover and supporter of American Humane, Joyce also leaves behind her beloved cats Simba and Leo and dog George.
She grew up in Shelbyville, Tennessee. After graduating from high school, she married her high school sweetheart, Bobby, who served as a United States Army officer.
Joyce joined Bobby and their growing family in national and international adventures as he served his country in numerous states and Germany. She organized family trips while overseas that provided her children with the educational experience of visiting several countries, including Spain, Morocco, and the United Kingdom.
She was a lifelong Democrat and worked enthusiastically for local, state, and national Democratic candidates. She also assisted in voter registration drives.
Joyce was a member of Vine Street Christian Church in Nashville. A celebration of her life will be held at the church on April 8, 2018, at 2:30 p.m. Memorial gifts may be made to Vine Street Christian Church, 4101 Harding Road, Nashville, TN 37205.
