Garcia’s hat trick sparks Eagle win
MANCHESTER — The Shelbyville Central Golden Eagle soccer team scored a huge District 8-AAA win with a 5-2 victory over Coffee County on the road Tuesday night.
“We started off knocking on the door with a couple of early chances. Shortly before the half, Coffee County tied it up. The guys stepped up in the second half and sealed the game away,” Eagle coach Chris Fritz said.
Sophomore Erman Garcia scored a hat-trick with three goals off assists by Garrett James, Eric Botello and Brandon Smith.

“Our guys up front of the net, Brandon Smith, Eric Botello and Erman Garcia are some of the most unselfish players when it comes to passing the ball,” Fritz added.
Johnny Garcia found the back of the net assisted by Smith while Botello added a goal off an assist by Erman Garcia.
“Coffee County was regular season district champion last year and still a tough opponent, so this win is a move in the right direction for our program,” Fritz said.
The Eagles (2-1, 1-0) travel to Columbia for a district match on Thursday at 7.
