Backpack program supported
Youth from First Presbyterian Church and Edgemont Baptist churches gathered on March 18 to prepare spring break food boxes for students who are food-insecure. The program is called the BackPack Program, and it feeds students during breaks.
Usually, these students are able to have breakfast and lunch at school, and the schools furnish a food package for the weekend. But with spring break meaning 10 days are being spent out of school, more food is needed. The churches packed 135 boxes with staple food, snacks, cereals, juice, fruits and more.
