The Shelbyville Central Golden Eagle soccer team continues to roll in District 8-AAA play after rolling past Lincoln County 2-0 at home on Thursday night.

“We came out really well in the first half with the intensity you want to see is a district match. We tied Lincoln County on the road and our guys walked away with a desire to get the win this time.” Central coach Chris Fritz said.

Senior Brandon Smith found the back of the net first off an assist from Erman Garcia in the first half.

The duo teamed up again in the second half with Garcia scoring off an assist from Smith.

“One of our captains, Brandon Smith, really played electric creating plays and hustling for the ball,” Fritz said. “The selflessness of this team is becoming more apparent every game.”

The Eagles (6-1-2, 5-0-1) travel to Franklin County on Tuesday at 7 p.m. for a district match.
