Derry Gale 'Crunchy' Graham
A Celebration of Life service will be held for Derry Gayle “Crunchy” Graham, age 59, of Shelbyville, 5:00 p.m. Saturday, November 17, 2018, at Horse Mountain Church of Christ with Mark Pierce and Jeff Collette officiating. Crunchy passed from this life Thursday evening, November 8, 2018, at home surrounded by his family.
Visitation will be held from 3:00 p.m. until service time Saturday, at the church.
A Native of Shelbyville, Crunchy was born March 5, 1959, to Lonnie and Joan Gayle Graham. He is preceded in death by: grandparents, Allie Mai & Hoyt Baucom, and Ruby and J.V. Graham.
Crunchy was a graduate of SCHS class of 1977. He started his working career at National Pen and then at Empire Pencil, during that time he attended Motlow College and received an EMT certification. He served many years, volunteering for the Bedford EMS before being hired full time. He enjoyed helping people in any way he could, and was a joy to be around, he played Grandpa Jones with the Hee Haw & Howdy for 10 years, was active in Relay for Life all 10 years as well. He will be greatly missed by his family and friends and was a long time member of Horse Mountain Church of Christ. His working career finished at Hydro Aluminum of Fayetteville after 10+ years of service.
Survivors include: wife of 40 years, Sandra D. Graham; children, Desiraee (Jay) Biggs of Shelbyville, Derica (Karl) Pyrdom of Lynchburg; grandchildren, Chloie and Brayden Pyrdom; step grandchildren, Lauren Biggs, and Rielly Varney; step great grandchildren, Lexi Ann Biggs; son-in-law, Jason (Breanne) Pilkington; brother, Chad (Punkin) Graham; sister, Tiffany Graham both of Shelbyville; and many nieces and nephews.
Memorial donations may be made to Doak-Howell Funeral Home to assist the family with final expenses.
